Gelatin Capsules and holders used for EM Applications
UV-transparent gelatin capsules provide an economical and convenient solution for producing resin blocks in electron microscopy sample preparation. These capsules are compatible with most resins and ideal for UV polymerization of acrylic resins, especially under dry ice temperatures, making them suitable for embedding techniques that require ultraviolet polymerization.
The capsules feature snap-shut lids, ensuring secure closure to prevent accidental opening, making them useful not only for resin preparation but also for storing grids, small specimens, apertures, and TEM calibration specimens. Their versatility extends to specimen storage, shipping, and transport, ensuring sample safety and organization.

Usage Tips:
Pre-dry the capsules thoroughly before use to prevent moisture interference.
Flushing the capsules with dry nitrogen before adding resins is recommended for optimal results.
Both capsule holders can accommodate 40 gelatin capsules, but they differ in material composition:
Left Holder (GZ13597): Made from PMMA, offering superior UV transmittance, making it ideal for applications requiring light transmission.
Right Holder (GZ1359): Constructed from stainless steel (SS), known for its exceptional corrosion resistance and durability, ensuring long-lasting performance in demanding environments.
Usage Tips:
Both capsule holders are compatible with the UV Cryo Chamber, enabling seamless collaboration for resin polymerization processes.
